Spares & Repairs is a speculative installation exploring the dystopian aftermath of transhumanist ambition. Using silicone casts and microprocessors, it envisions a world where bodies are discarded in favor of perpetual upgrades, raising questions about the ethics of enhancement culture. By treating the body as outdated hardware, the work critiques techno-consumerism’s impact not only on identity and wellbeing but also on material waste and environmental cost. The piece prompts reflection on the alienation from our organic selves, asking viewers to weigh the cost of artificial progress against the fragile, often overlooked value of embodied, natural human experience.
