Induced Resonance is a cymatic installation that makes the vibration of sound waves visible through the movement of frequencies on the surface of the water.
First explored as experimental violin making, this research focuses on the phenomenon of induction and feedback. Amplification circuits capture the resonance of stretched strings. These frequencies are reinjected into the strings to create a looping of the signal. Naturally filtered by the resonant material, effects of sub-melodies, irregularities, tones and other hidden harmonies appear through sympathetic resonance.
