Eco-Bot.Net

Eco-Bot.Net is a pioneering net‑art and research intervention launched across COP26 in November 2021. Created by artist-researcher Bill Posters, Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja, Dale Vince, and a multi-disciplinary consortium, it deploys AI-powered bots to systematically scrape, classify, and expose climate disinformation and corporate greenwashing as paid social media ads. These are aggregated, verified by journalists, and shared via open‑data visualizations, creating a publicly accessible archival database. The project illuminates the strategies fossil fuel and high-emitter companies use to mislead the public on environmental claims. Eco-Bot.Net continues to evolve, partnering with Oxford University’s Climate Litigation Lab and expanding into a Climate Ad Archive.
