BogSkin is a major exhibition exploring Ireland’s enduring relationship with the boglands through art, memory, and myth. Curated by Patrick T. Murphy, the exhibition spans over 50 years of artistic engagement with these landscapes, from the poetic abstractions of Camille Souter and Sean McSweeney to the ritual, mythological, and environmental investigations of Hughie O’Donoghue, Nigel Rolfe, and Siobhán McDonald. Featuring painting, photography, film, architecture, and performance, BogSkin reflects on the bog as a site of history, preservation, labour, and transformation. The exhibition includes contributions from leading Irish artists and is accompanied by writings from Seamus Heaney, Colm Tóibín, and Marina Carr, with a touring presentation at Esker Arts Centre, Tullamore, in Spring 2025.
